Tobi has the incredible opportunity to serve for three months with Mercy Ships, a non-profit organization, on board the Africa Mercy! She has been accepted to the Intensive Care Unit aboard ship for July 31-October 31, 2009! The Africa Mercy is now anchored in port in Cotonou, Benin, West Africa. Tobi would greatly appreciate your PRAYERS and SUPPORT for this new adventure!

- Profession: RN, Intensive Care Unit and Home Healthcare Education: Homeschooled through HS; 3 yr at Bryan College, TN then transferred to Pensacola Christian College, FL for 4yr to complete my BSN. Other Countries I've been to: Bahamas, Belize, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic.
My Story:
I grew up at a Christian youth camp in Western Pensylvania called Miracle Mountain Ranch. I am the oldest of six kids, all home schooled. Though I grew up in a Christian family, in a Christian environment, it was not until I was about 14 or 15 yr old that I realized my need for Jesus Christ's redeeming work. You see, everybody messes up, everybody sins. The Bible says that the punishment earned by that sin is death. But God, out of His amazing and patient love for us, came up with the solution. He sent His only Son, Jesus, to come to earth, live as a man, and to die a tortured death on a Roman cross--dying in our place. But He didn't end it there. God then raised Jesus from the dead so that death no longer has power over any who would accept Jesus' substitution for them. God then offers to everyone forgiveness of our sins and eternal life with Him in heaven after our physical death. And not only that, but by accepting this gift we also get His constant and close companionship through which He provides us with a constant and abundant supply of overwhelming love, indescribable joy, genuine peace, comfort as it is needed, guidance in everything, and much, much more. However, until that time, I had only a vague memory of myself praying to accept that gift when I was little. When my dad was teaching our youth group and he asked each of us to write down one reason we knew we were saved by God, I realized that I had no reason--I couldn't say for sure that I was. So that night I talked to my mom about it and prayed to accept God's gift. Since then He has done a lot of work to change me and make me the kind of person that He is. I feel that God has called me into full time Christian missions, quite possibly overseas. And this trip is one more step on the adventure!
