I have tickets!

This afternoon, I heard back from a travel angency I'd contacted earlier this week. The average ticket I'd found was $3,400 - $4,500. With missionary discounts, they found me a great ticket for $2,915, flying out of Pittsburgh--a lot closer than I thought I would have to go, and I have the perfect amount of support for that ticket! God is so unpredictable but so amazing and faithful! Even when my faith is so small!!! "Faithful is He who has called you, who will also do it" and "Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful." Only a little bit more to go! YAY!!! I leave July 28th!

Tickets!

I will have the money to buy my tickets THIS FRIDAY!!! YAY!!!! Just in time to send my Pre-Arrival form in to Mercy Ships! However, I still need my crew fees--about $1,875. Those I can pay all at once or month-by-month so I have some time. And thanks to those friends and family that have recently sent gifts towards this trip! They are a HUGE answer to my prayers!

I have really been struggling with doubt. Doubt that this is really what God wants. Doubt that God will provide (not that He can but that He will). Doubt that I can do the job there. Fear about my job situation when I get back (I have to quit in order to go!). Fears, worries, and doubts abound. But my God is faithful, and has not called me and given me peace about a trip that He will not provide for. As my sister-in-law reminded me today, "God is never early. God is never late. But God is always on time." For a person that must plan six weeks in advance to be spontaneous, this is a huge stretch and an exciting learning opportunity! I can't wait to see how he answers!

Despite the fears, I am getting very, very, very excited about the trip and all that I will experience there! I'm almost finished with the online orientation information I need to read before arriving. It's much more simplified care than what I'm used to at the hospital just to help maintain uniformity with so many patients, crew members, and resources from various locations around the world. Most of the care will be similar to what I do now in the hospital but on a much wider range of patients with some surgeries that I've not worked with before.

And, best of all, I get to attend and get involved with whichever national church I choose! I get very excited thinking about the brothers and sisters in Christ I will soon be meeting and worshipping with! In the words of Zach Brown, "God is just too good to me!"
